What is gift aid

Under the Gift Aid scheme, charities can reclaim an extra 25% in tax from the
HM Revenue & Customs on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.

Please note that tax can only be reclaimed on donations made by individuals who pay UK income or capital gain tax at least equal to the amount reclaimed on their donations in the current tax year.

What do I have to do – just tell us you are a UK taxpayer

You need to give the charity your permission to reclaim the income tax by completing the Gift Aid declaration when sending a cheque, or tick the gift aid box when donating on-line.
